Nvidia plans to open an AI technology centre in Sweden, focusing on research and talent development, as it joins forces with a Swedish business consortium to build an AI Factory.

Sweden’s leading companies — including AstraZeneca, Ericsson, Saab, SEB, and Wallenberg Investments, are collaborating with Nvidia to establish a sovereign AI infrastructure, highlighted by the development of a new AI Factory.

Nvidia recently revealed plans to work with this Swedish business consortium to build advanced AI infrastructure powered by its high-performance computing, networking, and software technologies. The initiative aims to prepare and transform key Swedish industries for the AI era through joint research and upskilling programs.

Investing in advanced AI infrastructure is a key step in accelerating AI innovation across Swedish industry,” said Marcus Wallenberg, Chair of Wallenberg Investments. “This initiative will enable upskilling, drive collaboration, and strengthen Sweden’s overall AI ecosystem.

As part of the collaboration, the consortium plans to launch a secure and sovereign AI system, managed by a jointly owned company. The first phase involves deploying two NVIDIA DGX SuperPODs powered by the latest Grace Blackwell GB300 systems, a setup that will make it the largest enterprise AI supercomputer in Sweden once operational.

This AI Factory will handle demanding AI workloads such as training domain-specific models and performing large-scale inference, including complex reasoning tasks.

As electricity powered the industrial age and the internet fueled the digital age, AI is the engine of the next industrial revolution,” said Nvidia founder and CEO, Jensen Huang.

Nvidia continues to advance its AI Factory strategy globally. While it has focused AI supercomputing efforts in the U.S. due to potential tariff challenges, it’s now expanding its footprint by forming global alliances to meet the rising demand for AI infrastructure.

In Sweden, Nvidia’s collaboration with this consortium is designed to stimulate AI innovation across sectors and cultivate AI expertise. To support this, Nvidia will establish its first AI Technology Center in Sweden, working alongside partners to promote world-class AI research. The company will also offer access to its experts and Deep Learning Institute programs to develop local AI talent.

This bold initiative from Wallenberg Investments and Sweden’s industry leaders is laying the groundwork for transformative breakthroughs across science, industry, and society,” Huang added. “It secures Sweden’s place at the forefront of the global AI landscape.
