The facility starts with 4 megawatts of capacity and carries a longer-term plan to scale to 20 MW as demand for cloud, artificial intelligence and data-intensive computing develops. The companies expect their broader partnership to bring total investment to approximately $300 million, placing the project within a substantially larger infrastructure strategy. At 7,500 square metres, the facility is designed to accommodate more than 650 cabinets, giving the development a meaningful role in the country’s next phase of digital capacity growth.
$100 Million First Phase Sets Up Larger Expansion
The opening gives DAMAC Digital and Vodafone Türkiye a physical platform from which to pursue capacity growth beyond the initial deployment. A 4 MW starting footprint provides an immediate operating base while the planned expansion to 20 MW creates room for substantially greater computing demand over time. The distinction matters as data center requirements increasingly shift from conventional enterprise workloads toward AI, cloud services and higher-density computing environments. That combination gives the project relevance beyond telecom infrastructure, particularly as enterprises place greater emphasis on where sensitive workloads and business data are processed.
The data-sovereignty dimension could become increasingly important as businesses adopt AI systems that require access to large volumes of corporate and operational information. Local infrastructure can give enterprises greater control over data processing environments while supporting requirements around resilience, latency and regulatory considerations.
