Mexico’s aluminum industry enters 2026 with potential opportunities to expand beyond its traditional manufacturing base as AI infrastructure investment creates additional demand for industrial materials. The country’s manufacturers already serve automotive, housing, aerospace, and other industrial markets, but the rapid expansion of computing capacity introduces another source of potential revenue. Server equipment, supercomputers, and associated technology components require materials that can support demanding manufacturing specifications and increasingly complex industrial applications. This shift could connect Mexican aluminum processors more closely with investment in digital infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and North American supply chains, although the scale of that opportunity remains unquantified. Ramón Beltrán, president of Mexico’s National Chamber of the Aluminum Industry (Canalum), expects domestic and international aluminum sales to strengthen as these markets expand.
