Amazon Web Services Inc. is reportedly preparing to introduce a specialized marketplace for artificial intelligence agents, with Anthropic PBC among its initial partners.
According to a TechCrunch report citing two anonymous sources familiar with the matter, AWS may unveil the new platform during the upcoming AWS Summit in New York City.
One source indicated that the marketplace will operate under a software-as-a-service model, allowing developers to select between subscription-based or pay-as-you-go pricing structures.
As noted by Mike Wheatley of SiliconANGLE, the collaboration is a strategic move for Anthropic. Partnering with AWS, the leading global cloud infrastructure provider, could help Anthropic reach a broader customer base, including businesses currently using competitors’ services. This visibility might also encourage more developers to leverage Anthropic’s API for building custom AI agents.
AWS is already Anthropic’s primary cloud platform, providing access to extensive GPU resources needed to train and deploy its AI models.
Amazon’s anticipated AI agent marketplace would place it in direct competition with similar initiatives launched by Google Cloud and Microsoft.
