Best Power Equipments (India) Private Limited, better known as BPE, is expanding beyond its established Indian market with a new distribution partnership designed to put its critical-power portfolio deeper into the UK data center sector. The Noida-based power and energy-storage manufacturer has partnered with OPT Services Limited to supply uninterruptible power supply systems, battery energy storage systems, Smart Racks and intelligent power distribution units to UK data centers and other power-sensitive operations. The arrangement also targets critical infrastructure operators and industrial customers, giving BPE an entry point into markets where power continuity increasingly sits alongside capacity and energy availability as a core infrastructure requirement.

The first phase will concentrate on London and several of the UK’s major data center clusters. OPT Services will lead market development, customer engagement and channel expansion, while BPE will contribute engineering resources, application design, product training and marketing support. The companies also plan to use a local-stock model for standard products, while larger UPS, BESS and data center deployments will move forward against confirmed customer orders. That structure gives BPE a way to establish product availability in the UK without immediately carrying the full inventory burden associated with large-scale infrastructure projects.

London Becomes the First Battleground for BPE

BPE’s UK push follows roughly two years of engagement with the market, including its participation in Data Center World London. The company now sees the UK as more than a single-country opportunity, positioning the market as a potential platform for a wider European expansion strategy. London offers an especially relevant starting point because the region continues to face a difficult balance between data center demand and available new capacity. The referenced market outlook projects London data center demand at 189MW in 2026, compared with 180MW of new supply, creating a narrow margin between expected requirements and incoming capacity.

That environment increases the importance of infrastructure that can support availability beyond the basic IT load. Operators are looking for resilient on-site power architectures and storage capabilities as they manage increasingly dense computing environments, grid constraints and the operational consequences of interruptions. For BPE, that creates a broader commercial opportunity than selling conventional UPS equipment. Its portfolio combines backup power, energy storage and rack-level power distribution, allowing the company to pursue infrastructure requirements across multiple layers of a data center’s electrical architecture.

BESS Expands BPE’s Role Beyond Traditional UPS

The UK opportunity also intersects with the country’s wider push to expand battery storage. The UK Government has set an ambition for 23GW to 27GW of battery capacity by 2030, establishing a market environment in which BESS can become increasingly important to the country’s power system and commercial infrastructure. BPE is bringing experience from India’s expanding digital infrastructure market into that opportunity. Installed Indian data center capacity has reached approximately 1,575MW, providing the company with a substantial domestic market in which it has developed experience supplying critical-power systems for digital infrastructure.

The company says its installed base exceeds two million UPS units and spans more than 25 countries. Its critical-power portfolio ranges from 650VA systems to equipment rated at 8MW, giving it coverage from smaller applications to much larger infrastructure requirements. That range matters as UK data center operators increasingly separate power-resilience requirements by workload, rack density and facility scale. BPE’s offering includes lithium-ion systems, Smart Racks, iPDUs and BESS products positioned as alternatives to diesel generator sets, alongside integrated data center platforms.

OPT Services Gives BPE a Local Route to Market

The partnership is built around a division of responsibilities that pairs BPE’s engineering capabilities with OPT Services’ UK market presence. Rather than establishing a standalone sales and service operation immediately, BPE can use OPT Services to develop customer relationships and build the local channel while retaining control over technical and application support. Mr. Amitansu Satpathy, Founder and Group Managing Director, BPE, highlighted the opportunity created by the UK’s accelerating requirements for data center infrastructure and energy storage. He said the partnership with OPT Services combines local market reach with BPE’s engineering, design and service capability.

UK Expansion Sets Up BPE’s European Ambition

BPE’s UK strategy reflects a larger shift among power-infrastructure suppliers toward markets where data center expansion is creating simultaneous demand for backup power, storage and intelligent distribution. London provides the company’s initial concentration point, but the planned national rollout could broaden its addressable customer base across data center clusters and other critical-power applications. The local distribution model also gives BPE a mechanism to scale according to project size. Standard products can remain locally available for faster customer requirements, while major UPS and BESS deployments can follow confirmed orders and project-specific engineering.

For BPE, the next stage will depend on how effectively the partnership converts its existing technology portfolio and international installed base into UK customer relationships. The company’s two-year engagement with the market provides an established starting point, while the OPT Services partnership supplies a more direct route into local channels. The bigger opportunity is the convergence of data center capacity and energy infrastructure. As operators demand greater resilience and the UK expands battery capacity, BPE is positioning its UPS, BESS, Smart Rack and iPDU portfolio around the electrical systems that increasingly determine how much digital infrastructure can be deployed, protected and operated reliably.
