Stuart Harvey, CEO of Datactics, has been appointed to techUK’s Scale-Up Council, furthering its commitment to support high-growth technology businesses and advocating for policies that accelerate innovation and economic expansion.

With the UK government facing pivotal decisions on public spending amid the Spring Budget, focusing on efficiency and cost savings, the government is looking to AI and technology to drive public sector transformation.

Prime Minister Kier Starmer has advocated for a leaner, more agile state, emphasising the need for businesses to embrace AI to enhance productivity and scale-ups are at the forefront of this shift.

The UK is home to over 34,000 scale-ups generating £1.4 trillion for the economy and employing 3.2 million people, with key skills in cloud computing, big data, and machine learning driving this transformation.

Stuart Harvey brings extensive expertise in data-driven solutions to the Scale-Up Council, drawing on his leadership at Datactics, a Belfast-based firm specialising in AI-powered data quality solutions.

Under his direction, Datactics has developed tools that improve government efficiency, including single citizen view solutions and NHS product matching.

The company’s impact has been recognised in techUK’s latest Scale-Up Action Plan, which highlights Datactics’ role in boosting productivity and delivering critical data-matching capabilities for the Home Office and law enforcement agencies.

Stuart Harvey, CEO of Datactics commented: “I’m honoured to join techUK’s Scale-Up Council at such a crucial time for the UK’s economic strategy. Scale-ups are proving that smart investments in data quality solutions can help businesses and government bodies extract greater value from their information which leads to better public services, improved operational effectiveness and stronger economic outcomes. I look forward to collaborating with industry leaders to create the right conditions for sustainable growth and to champion the role of high quality data and data readiness in the UK’s digital future.”

With the UK tech sector set for increased growth, Stuart Harvey’s role on the Scale-Up Council will help shape the conversation on how high-growth firms can contribute to national prosperity.
