India to get a green data center in Ghaziabad

Uttar Pradesh is set to mark a significant milestone in its digital and tech infrastructure with the upcoming CEL-ESDS Green Data Center in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. The foundation stone will be laid at the Central Electronics Limited (CEL) premises in the Sahibabad Industrial Area during an official ceremony.

A joint initiative by CEL and ESDS Software Solution Ltd., the Tier-3 Green Data Center will combine high sustainability standards and advanced technological capabilities. It aims to serve the growing demands of digital governance, business operations, and innovation-driven ecosystems.

Designed with a focus on energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, the facility supports the national missions of Digital India and Green India. It is poised to accelerate digital transformation, attract strategic investments, and create employment opportunities in the region.

The upcoming data center will have a planned capacity of 30 megawatts, featuring high-density server racks spread across three floors. It will be built to Tier-3 green building standards and equipped with a 40 Gbps ring fiber backbone, supported by multiple internet service providers for seamless connectivity.

Advanced monitoring tools and multi-layered security systems will ensure high availability and robust protection of mission-critical data. Once live, the CEL-ESDS Green Data Center will emerge as a vital digital infrastructure hub, elevating Uttar Pradesh’s position in India’s digital economy while upholding strong sustainability principles.
