LG Electronics Enters Nvidia’s AI Cooling Power Circle

LG Electronics has secured a new position inside Nvidia’s infrastructure ecosystem as AI data centers push cooling systems toward megawatt-scale capacity. The South Korean electronics company has joined the NVIDIA Partner Network as a Power and Cooling partner, giving its thermal-management portfolio a more direct route to customers building Nvidia-based AI data centers and AI factories. The move comes after LG completed Nvidia qualification for multiple coolant distribution unit, or CDU, capacities, putting liquid cooling at the center of its next phase of data center expansion.

LG Electronics Joins Nvidia’s Power And Cooling Network

Nvidia’s Partner Network connects companies supplying hardware, software, services and infrastructure with customers developing AI data centers and AI factories. LG’s Power and Cooling designation places its cooling technologies inside that broader commercial and technical ecosystem, creating opportunities for technical cooperation, customer engagement and sales activity around Nvidia-based infrastructure. For LG, the significance goes beyond another channel partnership because cooling decisions increasingly move into the earliest stages of AI facility design as rack power and thermal density rise.

That timing matters for equipment suppliers competing for large AI infrastructure programs. LG said the Nvidia relationship can create opportunities to introduce chillers and CDUs during the planning and design stages of next-generation facilities, rather than entering procurement discussions after the cooling architecture has already taken shape. Meanwhile, Nvidia’s ecosystem approach gives customers a way to identify suppliers whose products have passed relevant technical requirements within the company’s AI infrastructure environment.

LG Pushes Its Chip-To-Chiller Strategy

LG entered the data center cooling market in 2011 through large air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. Its current portfolio reaches further into the liquid-cooling chain, covering chillers that produce cooling water, CDUs that distribute coolant and cold plates that absorb heat directly from semiconductor components. The company describes this architecture as a “chip-to-chiller” portfolio, positioning LG around the complete thermal path rather than a single cooling component.

The strategy becomes more relevant as AI servers generate substantially higher heat loads than conventional enterprise equipment. LG’s direct-to-chip liquid-cooling approach sends coolant toward high-heat components such as CPUs and GPUs, then connects that thermal path with broader cooling infrastructure. The company says its systems can operate alongside air cooling, allowing facilities to combine liquid and air-based thermal management rather than replacing every existing cooling system. LG has paired that cooling architecture with precision temperature-control technology. Its 600kW CDU documentation cites temperature-control precision of ±0.25°C, alongside monitoring and leak-detection capabilities designed for high-density AI infrastructure. The company has built testing capabilities around its complete thermal chain, examining responses from AI chip loads and cold plates through the CDU and chiller.

North America Becomes A Key Expansion Target

LG’s Nvidia partner status arrives as the company targets hyperscale data center operators and colocation providers in international markets. The company has identified North America as a particularly important opportunity and said the region represents more than 60% of global demand for new data center capacity. That market creates a large addressable opportunity for suppliers that can combine high-capacity cooling equipment with the qualification requirements surrounding AI infrastructure. The commercial opportunity extends beyond selling individual CDUs. A supplier that enters the facility design process early can influence the cooling architecture, hydraulic configuration, redundancy strategy and thermal-control requirements that determine downstream equipment decisions.

LG’s portfolio therefore places it closer to the infrastructure planning layer, where AI operators must reconcile increasing compute density with cooling capacity, reliability and expansion requirements. LG’s timing also aligns with its broader expansion of AI data center cooling products. The company launched an air-cooled centrifugal chiller in September 2026, describing it as a high-efficiency solution for rising AI data center cooling demand and highlighting rapid restoration of cooling capacity following a power interruption. That product sits alongside LG’s liquid-cooling portfolio, giving the company multiple thermal architectures for different facility configurations.

Nvidia Qualification Raises The Stakes For Cooling Suppliers

Nvidia’s infrastructure ecosystem is becoming an increasingly important commercial reference point as AI factories evolve from individual server deployments into tightly integrated compute facilities. Product qualification does not remove the need for site-specific engineering, but it can give equipment suppliers a clearer path into projects built around Nvidia platforms. LG’s expanding CDU range shows how cooling vendors are adapting their products around the thermal requirements of increasingly dense AI systems. Ultimately, LG’s Nvidia partnership is less about adding another badge to its portfolio than about moving cooling closer to the center of AI infrastructure procurement. The company now has qualified CDU capacity spanning hundreds of kilowatts into the multi-megawatt range, alongside chillers and cold plates that cover much of the thermal chain.

“Being listed in the Nvidia Partner Network is a meaningful achievement that demonstrates to the global market that LG Electronics’ thermal-management technology is an optimal solution for next-generation AI data center infrastructure,” said Lee Jae-sung, president of LG Electronics’ ES Company. The next test will come from deployment scale. As AI operators move toward larger GPU clusters and higher rack densities, cooling suppliers will compete not simply on heat-removal capacity but on how effectively their systems fit into power, redundancy, controls and expansion strategies. LG’s move puts its cooling business directly into that infrastructure competition.
