Vertiv has introduced a new AI-driven managed service aimed at redefining how modern data centers and AI factories approach maintenance. The company announced Vertiv™ Next Predict as a shift away from time-based servicing toward continuous, intelligence-led operations that anticipate risks before they surface.

As AI workloads intensify and infrastructure grows more complex, operators increasingly seek deeper visibility across power, cooling, and IT systems. Against this backdrop, Vertiv positions Next Predict as a core element of its broader AI infrastructure portfolio, designed to unify monitoring and decision-making across critical assets. Rather than reacting to failures, the service focuses on understanding asset behavior in real time and acting before disruptions occur.

Predictive Intelligence Replaces Calendar-Based Maintenance

Traditionally, data center maintenance followed fixed schedules or responded after alarms triggered interventions. However, that approach often leaves operators exposed to unplanned downtime or inefficient servicing. Vertiv Next Predict addresses this gap by applying AI-based anomaly detection to continuously evaluate operating conditions and flag deviations from expected performance patterns at an early stage.

Moreover, the service applies predictive algorithms that assess potential operational impact, determine risk levels, and prioritize responses accordingly. Root cause analysis then isolates contributing factors, enabling targeted corrective action instead of broad, manual troubleshooting. Based on this insight, prescriptive actions guide execution, with Vertiv-trained services personnel carrying out the required measures.

“Data center operators need innovative technologies to stay ahead of potential risks, as compute intensity rises and infrastructures evolve,” said Ryan Jarvis, Vice President of the global services business unit at Vertiv. “Vertiv Next Predict helps data centers unlock uptime, shifting maintenance from traditional calendar-based routines to a proactive, data-driven strategy. We move from assumptions to informed decisions, by continuously monitoring equipment condition and enabling risk mitigation before potential impacts to operations.”

Built for AI Factories and Distributed Environments

As AI factories emerge alongside traditional enterprise and colocation data centers, infrastructure reliability has become a strategic priority. High-density compute environments place sustained pressure on power distribution, cooling systems, and energy storage. Consequently, even minor inefficiencies can cascade into broader performance issues.

Vertiv designed Next Predict to support a wide range of power and cooling platforms, including battery energy storage solutions and liquid cooling components. This broad compatibility allows operators to deploy predictive maintenance across heterogeneous environments without re-architecting existing facilities. At the same time, the service supports distributed operations, where consistent performance across multiple sites remains difficult to achieve using manual processes.

By standardizing how infrastructure health gets monitored and analyzed, Vertiv aims to help operators maintain continuity at scale. The service also supports faster decision-making, since risk prioritization highlights where teams should focus attention first.

Scalable Architecture for Future Infrastructure

Beyond current deployments, Vertiv emphasizes that Next Predict was engineered with future growth in mind. The service aligns with the company’s grid-to-chip service architecture, which seeks to connect energy input, power management, cooling, and compute into a unified operational model.

This design allows Next Predict to integrate with future data center technologies as they come online. As infrastructure evolves to support higher rack densities and new cooling methods, the service can expand without forcing customers to replace existing systems. According to Vertiv, this forward-looking approach enables organizations to adopt predictive maintenance now while preserving flexibility for later upgrades.

Services Experience Meets AI Analytics

Vertiv’s services organization underpins the new offering with decades of experience in critical digital infrastructure support. The company maintains a global network of Vertiv-trained technicians who execute corrective actions identified by the platform. AI-powered analytics guide these interventions, but human expertise remains central to resolution and optimization.

By combining continuous monitoring, predictive modeling, and field execution, Vertiv positions Next Predict as more than a software layer. Instead, the company frames it as an operational model that industrializes maintenance for AI-driven data centers.

As data center operators navigate rising compute intensity and infrastructure complexity, predictive intelligence increasingly shapes how facilities maintain uptime. With Next Predict, Vertiv signals its intent to move maintenance from a support function to a strategic capability embedded across the digital infrastructure stack.
