Vietnam’s state-owned Viettel Group has launched two flagship national projects worth around USD 1 billion, according to Blackridge Research and Consulting. The initiatives include the An Khanh Data Center in Hanoi and the Viettel Research & Development Center, underscoring the company’s push into large-scale infrastructure.
The An Khanh facility, set to be one of Vietnam’s largest hyperscale data centers, will feature up to 140MW of capacity and about 10,000 racks across four hectares. Viettel plans to expand aggressively, aiming to build 24 data centers nationwide by 2030 with a combined capacity of 560MW.
Viettel currently operates 14 data centers across Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Duong, with 11 additional sites under development to meet 40% of Vietnam’s data demand.
Meanwhile, the Viettel Research & Development Center in Hoa Lac is set to become a strategic hub for the nation’s high-tech defense industry, underscoring the group’s commitment to advancing Vietnam’s technological and defense capabilities.
These initiatives form part of a nationwide campaign that launched 250 projects simultaneously across 34 provinces and cities in Vietnam.
