Expansion Can Change How Existing Infrastructure Gets Maintained

Consider a situation where an engineer arrives for a scheduled inspection and discovers that a newly installed cooling assembly obstructs an existing equipment panel. The machinery continues running, and the expansion project appears to have achieved its intended capacity increase without disrupting daily operations. Yet the engineer might now need additional preparation, temporary equipment removal or a revised isolation procedure to complete a task that previously required straightforward access. For the organisation purchasing AI infrastructure, this hypothetical situation illustrates a maintenance dependency that an expansion proposal should examine before installation. Such restrictions deserve attention during procurement discussions because capacity, electrical availability and deployment schedules do not independently demonstrate whether equipment remains serviceable. The more useful question concerns whether the facility can maintain its existing infrastructure safely and efficiently after construction teams install the next generation of equipment.

Building an AI Startup Without Owning GPUs

Not owning GPUs has become the default, deliberate strategy for building an AI company — not a compromise founders accept reluctantly.
