Electromech Infraprojects Ltd. has appointed Adnan Ansari as AVP – Data Centre Solutions and Growth, strengthening its leadership team as it expands its digital infrastructure business. Ansari brings around 10 years of overall experience, including eight years working across data centre and electrical construction projects. His new mandate covers business development, estimation, client engagement and organisational growth across Electromech’s data centre operations. The appointment comes as the company looks to capture a larger share of India’s expanding digital infrastructure market while developing opportunities in international markets.

Ansari will work with customers across pre-sales, technical requirements, commercial discussions and project estimation as Electromech scales its data centre capabilities. His role will also involve developing processes and organisational capabilities designed to support larger and more complex projects. That focus comes as data centre construction increasingly requires coordination across electrical infrastructure, cooling, engineering, procurement and commissioning. Electromech is positioning the appointment as part of a broader effort to build the operational foundation needed for its next stage of growth.

AI Is Raising Data Centre Complexity

Ansari said the next phase of India’s data centre expansion will depend increasingly on execution capabilities as projects become more technically demanding. He pointed specifically to AI-driven changes in rack density and cooling as factors that are reshaping infrastructure requirements. Ansari will also focus on strengthening Electromech’s internal processes while working directly with customers on future projects. He said the role will extend to supporting the company’s expansion across India and the GCC.

“India’s data centre sector is entering a period of significant growth, but the opportunity will increasingly depend on how effectively the industry can execute increasingly complex projects. AI is also changing the infrastructure requirements of data centres, with higher rack densities and greater adoption of advanced cooling technologies. At Electromech, I look forward to strengthening our data centre business, building scalable processes and working closely with customers to support the delivery of future-ready digital infrastructure. I am also excited to contribute to the company’s expansion across India and the GCC.”

The comments underline a shift in the competitive landscape for data centre construction, where execution capability is becoming increasingly important alongside capacity and cost. AI infrastructure can require substantially higher power density and more advanced thermal management than conventional enterprise facilities. For construction technology companies, that creates opportunities to differentiate through technical expertise, project coordination and delivery reliability. Electromech’s expanded leadership structure reflects that changing requirement.

Electromech Targets GCC Data Centre Opportunities

Electromech is also increasing its focus on the GCC data centre market, with Ansari expected to work alongside the company’s UAE team on business development and bidding opportunities. The company sees the region as an additional market for its digital infrastructure capabilities as data centre investment expands across the Gulf. Ansari’s international mandate will sit alongside his responsibilities for strengthening Electromech’s position in India. The strategy gives the company a dual-market growth path as it seeks to expand its data centre portfolio.

Electromech’s leadership expansion also supports a wider revenue ambition through 2030. The company is targeting a five- to six-fold increase in revenue by the end of the decade, making scalable processes and operating systems central to its growth plans. Ansari’s appointment adds dedicated leadership across commercial development, estimation, customer engagement and data centre solutions as the company pursues that target. For Electromech, the move is less about adding another executive title and more about building the organisational capacity required to compete for increasingly complex digital infrastructure projects.

Building an AI Startup Without Owning GPUs

Not owning GPUs has become the default, deliberate strategy for building an AI company — not a compromise founders accept reluctantly. H100 rental rates fell 64-75% in fifteen months, a dense ecosystem of neoclouds and inference-as-a-service providers now lets startups skip infrastructure entirely, and credit programs can fund a company’s first year before a founder writes a check
