Vervesemi Secures $10M to Accelerate Analog AI Ambitions

India’s semiconductor conversation often centers on fabs and geopolitics. However, the more strategic battleground sits upstream in design-led intellectual property and differentiated silicon. This week, Mumbai-based fabless startup Vervesemi Microelectronics moved decisively on that front, securing $10 million in Series A funding to accelerate commercialization of its intelligent analog semiconductors.

The round was led by market investor Ashish Kacholia and venture firm Unicorn India Ventures. Roots Ventures, Caperize Fina, MAIQ Growth Scheme, and several high-net-worth individuals also participated. Importantly, the round was oversubscribed multiple times, signaling concentrated investor interest in India’s deep tech hardware layer.

Rather than competing purely on high-volume scale, Vervesemi focuses on precision-driven applications where analog performance directly influences system stability and operational accuracy. That positioning, in turn, shapes how the company intends to allocate this fresh capital.

A Strategic Inflection: From Silicon Proof to Market Penetration

This raise marks a transition phase for the company. Vervesemi has already validated its machine learning-enabled analog architecture in silicon. Now, it intends to move aggressively toward production qualification and structured global distribution.

Rakesh Malik, Co-founder and CEO, described the round as a shift from technology validation to large-scale deployment. Pratap Narayan Singh, Co-founder and CTO, said the funding would enable the company to accelerate product tape-outs and strengthen its global go-to-market capabilities.

Accordingly, the company will focus on three coordinated levers: commercializing its ML-enhanced analog signal chain portfolio, pushing existing chips into production and qualification cycles, and expanding market presence across India, the United States, and other key semiconductor corridors.

Engineering Depth as Competitive Moat

Since its founding in 2017, Vervesemi has built more than 140 semiconductor IP blocks and 25 IC product variants. It also holds over 10 patents and five trade secrets. Early customer design commitments further strengthen its execution runway.

The company operates across industrial automation, smart energy systems, motor control platforms, and avionics sectors where analog precision directly affects safety, efficiency, and performance. Therefore, differentiation hinges less on cost and more on architecture.

Recently, Vervesemi introduced a motor control product line targeting electric vehicles, drones, and industrial automation. It also rolled out advanced bridge sensor interface chips for precision measurement and an avionics-grade multi-function controller platform tailored for aerospace and defense environments. Together, these launches extend its footprint into markets demanding rugged, high-reliability silicon.

Investor Signal: India’s Deep Tech Capital Is Consolidating

Ashish Kacholia pointed to the team’s experience from leading multinationals and order wins from customers including a major space organisation as key factors in his decision to back the company.

Anil Joshi of Unicorn India Ventures noted the broader context of India’s deep tech ecosystem maturing, citing the firm’s recently launched Rs 600 crore deep tech fund with IIT Madras.

Taken together, these endorsements highlight a structural shift. Capital is no longer confined to SaaS or fintech. Instead, it is increasingly underwriting hard-tech cycles that demand patience, technical rigor, and long gestation periods.

The Road Ahead: Design Wins to Revenue Realization

Over the coming year, Vervesemi plans to expand its analog design, mixed-signal, firmware, and applications engineering teams. The immediate mandate centers on converting pipeline engagements into production design wins and initiating early revenue streams. In semiconductor markets, credibility compounds slowly but scales rapidly once production locks in. Consequently, the company’s next milestones, qualification approvals, customer ramp-ups, and repeat orders will define its trajectory.

The broader takeaway extends beyond a single funding round. India’s semiconductor ambition is increasingly design-first, IP-driven, and globally oriented. Vervesemi’s raise underscores that intelligent analog semiconductors may become one of the country’s most defensible export categories in the years ahead.

Building an AI Startup Without Owning GPUs

Not owning GPUs has become the default, deliberate strategy for building an AI company — not a compromise founders accept reluctantly. H100 rental rates fell 64-75% in fifteen months, a dense ecosystem of neoclouds and inference-as-a-service providers now lets startups skip infrastructure entirely, and credit programs can fund a company’s first year before a founder writes a check
